About 250 athletes will take part of the third edition of the “Gran Premi Diputació de Barcelona” tournament, with some of the best international Paralympic swimmers of the moment.
Only two weeks remain to start the next International Adapted Swimming Trophy, from Saturday 21st to Sunday 22nd in the magnificent Club Natació Barcelona facilities, Barcelona. About 250 athletes, with and without disabilities, will participate together in the competition.
For Sarai Gascón, one of the best Paralympic swimmers of the world, the inclusive character of the trophy suppose an opportunity “to improve ourselves”. “Even if we have a disability, we cannot put barriers. We have to go for all and try to win people who do not have any disability”, says the Catalan swimmer.
But is not only Gascón who talk about the importance of an inclusive tournament. It is not usual for athletes with and without to compete together, but it is a great experience for all of them.
